2024 Night Hike: Spring Equinox
Saturday, March 23, 2024 | 8-9:30 p.m.
What is the significance of the spring equinox?
During the equinox, both halves of the Earth are receiving the sun's rays equally. In the Northern Hemisphere, the spring equinox officially brings winter to an end and kicks off spring!
Celebrate spring by enjoying the night sky and the cosmos. Join us on this gentle hike through the Preserve and take in the wonders of the prairie and forest at night while discovering some of the mysteries and curiosities of the universe. Learn about the significance of the land and how it served as a source of inspiration to the Shakers and humans throughout history. We'll end the evening with a warming cup of hot chocolate around a cheerful bonfire at our amphitheater.
