For the Shakers, temptation and sin lurked just around the corner! A plethora of rules governed all aspects of life in the community - from when brethren and sisters could meet socially to what foods were acceptable on the dinner table. We’ll take a special stroll through some of our historic buildings as we share stories about the naughtier side of life at Pleasant Hill, ending the evening with a Shaker Village signature cocktail and some light refreshments.

Due to the inclusion of alcoholic beverages, this program is intended for participants aged 21+. This program will traverse approximately 0.5 mile of graveled, level terrain and will climb and descend several flights of stairs. Participants should be comfortable walking and navigating stairs in low light/semi-dark conditions. The program will proceed rain or shine, although the route may be modified in case of inclement weather.
This program deals with mature themes including addiction, intoxication, and sexuality; it is not suitable for young children.
