2025 Basic Chair Taping - Footstool
Saturday, March 22, 2025 | 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The Shakers used a distinctive material for crafting seats on chairs, footstools, and settees — colorful, woven strips of cotton or wool known as “tape” or “listing.” In this workshop you’ll get to learn the art of chair taping for yourself! We’ll use a mix of traditional and modern materials, and by the end of the afternoon you’ll walk away with a completed footstool.
Annual Passholder: $135
General Admission: $150
No experience necessary. This workshop is intended for participants aged 18+.
Program fee includes a boxed lunch, one complimentary admission to Shaker Village and one voucher for 20% dining at the Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages). Dining reservations recommended: call 859.734.5411.
