2024 Hand-Tied Brooms

Join us to learn a heritage craft that links us to a 200-year tradition of broom making at Pleasant Hill. In this workshop, you will begin by making smaller brushes and progress to creating a Turkey Wing (a hand-tied variation of a traditional flat broom). Learn to wrap, tie and finish hand-made brooms just like the Shakers.
All necessary materials are provided. No experience necessary and all levels are encouraged to join.
Annual Passholder: $65
General Admission: $75
Program fee includes one complimentary admission to Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill and a voucher for 20% off one meal at The Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages). Dining reservations recommended: call 859.734.5411.
This workshop is for ages 16 and up. All minors must be accompanied by a paying adult.
