Monarch Butterfly Tagging

Each fall, hundreds of millions of monarch butterflies migrate from the United States to warmer regions in Mexico and California. The monarch migration is one of the world's greatest natural wonders, yet it is threatened by habitat loss.
Take an easy hike through The Preserve and learn how its wildflowers serve as an important habitat for butterflies and other essential pollinators, then help tag monarchs to track and monitor their annual migration. Along the way, discuss plants you can grow in your own yard to help save the monarchs.
Cost:
Annual Passholder: $25
Non-Annual Passholder: $35
Program fee includes one complimentary admission to Shaker Village and one voucher redeemable for 20% off dining at the Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages). Dining reservations recommended to assure availability call: 859.734.5411.
This event is recommended for ages 5+. If under 18, guests must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Discovery Trek tickets will not be mailed in advance. Please check in at the Welcome Center at least 30 minutes prior to the activities’ scheduled start time.
All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Shaker Village is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
