Are you ready for a twilight adventure through the Palisades? Paddle the Kentucky and Dix Rivers as sunset falls over the cliffs. This 2-hour guided trip is led by Canoe Kentucky and leaves from nearby Shaker Landing.

Suitable for ages 12 and older. Program fee includes one complimentary admission to Shaker Village and one voucher redeemable day-of for 20% off dining at The Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages).

The night sky and the cosmos have been a source of inspiration and amazement throughout human history. Join us for an evening at Pleasant Hill and explore the starry sky! On this gentle hike through the Preserve, take in the wonders of the prairie and forest at night while discovering some of the mysteries and curiosities of the universe. Along the way, we will observe constellations and learn about comets, meteors, and shooting stars. After the hike, spread out a quilt and take in the Perseids meteor shower!

Owls are creatures that have fascinated humans for thousands of years. Hunting in our forests at night, owls are mysterious and rarely seen by human eyes.

Join us for an evening in the woods and learn all about these amazing animals. After dark, we will call—and listen—for owls in the surrounding trees!

Whether looking into the face of a young Shaker girl, or a lone coat hanging against a stark, aged wall, you may sense another presence in the room when viewing Bill Berryman’s creations. Berryman weaves stories throughout his work with detailed yet simplistic images.

Join Bill Berryman as he demonstrates his artistic process through drawings and paintings. This demonstration will take place outdoors, weather permitting, and guests will be able to interact with the artist and discuss his process.

Artist's Statement

My current work is inspired by the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. It is composed of representational drawings and watercolors of portraits, architectural studies, still life and animals.

The Village is a place that is very special to me, and my art helps me to share it with others.

David Shadwick of Pod’s Forge is a master craftsman who makes the copper lanterns, brackets, wrought iron candle holders and boot scrapers that you see throughout Shaker Village.

Shadwick will bring his forge out to the Village and make nails in this fun, informative demonstration.
