Shaker Village Trails

Every year we close most of our trails to manage wildlife and perform routine maintenance on our 36-mile trail system.

  • On weekdays November 15 - December 3 all trails with the exceptions of the River Road and Palisades Trails will be closed to hikers and equestrians.
  • On weekends all trails will be open to hikers and equestrians.
  • On Thanksgiving Day, November 25, and Black Friday, November 26, all trails will be open to hikers and equestrians.

Basic Weaving - The Market Basket

Take on the challenging project of making a market basket in a day! Learn the art of weaving using natural reed to make a basket that is perfect for shopping trips into town or to the local farmer’s market.

All necessary materials are provided. No experience necessary and all levels encouraged.

Price (Includes a boxed lunch):
Annual Passholder: $70
Non-Annual Passholder: $75 

Program fee includes one complimentary admission to Shaker Village and one voucher redeemable for 20% off dining at the Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages). Dining reservation recommended to assure availability, 859.734.5411.

Enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal with all the trimmings—we do all the work and you and your family get to relax and enjoy. Delicious turkey, vegetables, cornbread dressing along with country ham and homemade bread and desserts.

This year you can dine with us at The Trustees' Table or get your Thanksgiving meal to go.

Children 6-12: $22
Children 6 & under: $9
