Each Fresh Food Adventure has an all-inclusive fixed dinner and spirits menu. Special dietary accommodations must be communicated in advance. Availability is limited, advanced registration and non-refundable pre-payment is required.


Additional Information:

Fresh Food Adventures are communal dining experiences, and guests should expect to share their table with other dining enthusiasts.

Parties wishing to sit together and guests with special dietary considerations should email [email protected] at least one week in advance to ensure accommodations.

Please follow on-site directional signage to event location and plan on checking-in 15 minutes prior to the event start time. Event tickets will not be mailed in advance.

Why is it called a “Wolf Moon?”

Historically, this was the time of year when it was more common to hear hungry wolf packs howling!

The night sky and the cosmos have been a source of inspiration and amazement throughout human history. Join us for an evening at Pleasant Hill and explore the starry sky and our nocturnal animals! On this gentle hike through the Preserve, take in the wonders of the prairie and forest at night while discovering some of the mysteries and curiosities of the universe. Along the way, we will listen to the enchanting sounds of the night, observe the night sky and learn fun facts about the moon.

Participants should meet at the Welcome Center by 5:00 p.m. All participants should bring flashlights to assist in returning to vehicles or rooms at the conclusion of the evening.

Shaker Village Trails

Every year we close most of our trails to manage wildlife and perform routine maintenance on our 36-mile trail system. Please review the below closures and note that the trails will be open on weekends during this period.

  • On weekdays November 14 - December 9 all trails with the exceptions of the River Road and Palisades Trails will be closed to hikers and equestrians.
  • On weekends all trails will be open to hikers and equestrians with the exception of the Pelly Trail which will remain closed on weekends and holidays.
  • On December 14-15 all trails with the exceptions of the River Road and Palisades Trails will be closed to hikers and equestrians.

Acclaimed watercolorist Charley Jolly began painting 40 years ago, with no experience. His passion for watercolor and love for his subjects have since guided him to becoming a master at his craft.

This 6-hour workshop is designed for beginners. Charley's easy, low-key approach is perfect for kindling your own passion for painting. All supplies are provided; all you need to bring is your interest!

Techniques for Texture

This study outlines the influence of texture on a finished work. Texture can be detailed, or implied. Charley will demonstrate how to paint both, but just as importantly, he will demonstrate how each technique can be employed to enhance a completed watercolor work.
