The scythe is an incredibly versatile tool that has been used for centuries! Join us to explore the history and usefulness of the scythe and other Shaker mowing tools. Then, pick-up a scythe yourself and discover how easy, graceful, and rewarding traditional mowing practice can be!
Price (includes box lunch):
Annual Passholder $40
Non-Annual Passholder $45
All participants must be at least 18. No experience necessary. All tools will be provided. New Austrian scything kits will be available for purchase at the conclusion of the workshop for $250.
Program fee includes one complimentary admission to Shaker Village, a boxed lunch, and one voucher redeemable day-of for 20% off dining at the Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages). Dining reservation recommended, call 859.734.5411.
