2024 Spirit Strolls: Death and Tragedy at Pleasant Hill
Friday & Saturday Evenings | September & October
Join us for an evening you won’t soon forget with a new batch of true tales to send a tingle down your spine. Don’t dare to stray from the group or let your candle extinguish on this nighttime stroll!
While the Shakers strove to create an earthly paradise, they could not escape the realities of human life—disease, violence, and death were present at every stage of Pleasant Hill’s history. We'll explore the darker side of the Village with a lantern-lit walk to the cemetery, stopping along the way for harrowing tales of everything from epidemics to murders, as well as Shaker funerary practices.
