2026 Christmas in July: German Stars

German stars, or Froebel stars, are classic 16-pointed stars made from folded paper. Traditionally dipped in wax and finished with a dusting of glitter, these stars can be personalized with colored paper or special patterns.
During this workshop, participants will learn to fold German stars and then be provided with a variety of different paper options to make 5-10 stars in various sizes.

No prior experience necessary, but guests should be aware that making German Stars involves visual acuity, fine-motor control, and hot wax.
German Stars is intended for participants aged 12+. Tickets required for all attendees.
Program fee includes one complimentary general admission ticket to Shaker Village and one voucher for 20% off dining at The Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages). Dining reservation recommended call: 859.734.5411.
Registered attendees who book an overnight stay at The Inn receive a 30% discount, applied at checkout. (Overnight stay must be for the date immediately preceding or succeeding the program.
