Acclaimed watercolorist Charley Jolly began painting 40 years ago, with no experience. His passion for watercolor and love for his subjects have since guided him to becoming a master at his craft.

This six-hour workshop is designed for intermediate level painters and will give particular focus to subject matter, composition and textures.

Charley's easy, low-key approach is perfect for kindling your own passion for painting. All supplies are provided; all you need to bring is your interest!

Fireflies are an iconic part of warm summer nights at Pleasant Hill. Join us for a delightful hike and discover both fact and fiction about these beautiful creatures that light up the evening. Along the way, we will take in the natural beauty of the Preserve while learning about the “lightning” bugs that are nature’s fireworks.

Why is it called a Strawberry Moon? Traditionally, this month’s full moon signaled the time to harvest wild strawberries.

The night sky and the cosmos have been a source of inspiration and amazement throughout human history. Join us for an evening at Pleasant Hill and explore the starry sky! On this gentle hike through the Preserve, take in the wonders of the prairie and forest at night while discovering some of the mysteries and curiosities of the universe. Along the way, we will observe constellations and learn fun facts about the moon and its importance in our lives.

Are you ready for an adventure through the Palisades? Paddle the Kentucky and Dix Rivers as sunset falls over the cliffs. This two-and-a-half hour guided trip is led by Canoe Kentucky and leaves from nearby Shaker Landing.
