What better place to ring in the new year than at Shaker Village! On this moderate hike through the Preserve, we'll enjoy an evening of peaceful contemplation under the light of the waxing moon. We'll be attuned to the sights and sounds of nature around us as we reflect on the changing of the year. The hike will end with time for a Shaker Village signature cocktail around a warming fire.

New Year's Eve Getaway

This hike will take place outdoors, rain or shine. Participants will traverse gravel, grass, and dirt pathways on a 1.5-2.0 mile loop along Shaker Village's trails. Participants should be comfortable walking in low light/semi-dark conditions. Participants may wish to bring a flashlight/headlamp, insect repellant and water.

This hike is intended for ages 21+. Tickets required for all attendees. Dogs are not permitted.

Shaker Village Trails

Every year we close most of our trails to manage wildlife and perform routine maintenance on our trail system. Please review the below closures and note that the trails will be open on weekends during this period.

  • On weekdays, November 10-14 and November 17-21, most trails will be closed to hikers and equestrians. The River Road and Palisades Trails will remain open every day during
    this period.
  • The Pelly Trail will be closed from November 8-23.
  • On Thanksgiving Day, November 27, and Black Friday, November 28, all trails will be open to hikers and equestrians.
