This week we’re extending an invitation for our Mercer County neighbors to enjoy Shaker Village, free of charge! Whether it has been 10 days or 10 years since your last visit, we’re excited to show you what’s happening just around the corner!

Mercer County residents with a valid ID are given free access to the Shaker Village property, including access to exhibits, interpreters, hiking trails and the Farm. Admission to some attractions will be limited, and all guests must receive their complimentary passes at the Shaker Village Welcome Center upon arrival.

All adults must have valid ID demonstrating Mercer County residence to receive free admission. Children under age 18, accompanied by a qualifying adult, will also be extended free admission. Does not apply to group rates.

Are you ready for a twilight adventure through the Palisades? Paddle the Kentucky and Dix rivers as sunset falls over the cliffs. This two-hour guided trip is led by Canoe Kentucky and leaves from nearby Shaker Landing.

Suitable for ages 12 and older. Program fee includes one complimentary admission to Shaker Village and one voucher redeemable for 20% off dining at the Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages).

Fireflies are an iconic part of warm summer nights at Pleasant Hill. Join us for a delightful hike and discover both fact and fiction about these beautiful creatures that light up the evening. Along the way, we will take in the natural beauty of the Preserve while learning about the “lightning” bugs that are nature’s fireworks!

Non-Annual Passholder: $5

Please meet at the Welcome Center by 8:30 pm. We will walk to the Amphitheater and begin the program at that location before hiking to the Tanyard and back. The program will begin at sunset (9:00pm) and continue until it is dark. All guests should bring flashlights that they can use to assist them return to their vehicles or rooms at the conclusion of the evening. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
