It Takes a Village: Volunteer Work Day

Roll up your sleeves and lend a hand to help maintain the beauty of Shaker Village! Shaker Village staff will lead small teams of volunteers on a variety of projects, from gardening and landscaping, to cleaning and painting.

Volunteers receive a continental breakfast and lunch for their labors, and incredible discounts to extend their stay at the Village (use promo: VOLS when booking overnight.)

Work projects will total approximately 6 hours of the day, for guests ages 18 and up, and space is limited!

Journey into our native grassland prairie to learn how the Shakers of Pleasant Hill cultivated its community and landscape, and how we manage that same landscape today.

While cruising down paths between fields of wildflowers you will encounter ruins of a site that fed the first public waterworks in the state of Kentucky, along with other wonders of Shaker engineering.

Price: $5 for ages 6+
