Each Fresh Food Adventure has an all-inclusive fixed dinner and spirits menu, and special dietary accommodations must be communicated in advance. Availability is limited and advanced registration and non-refundable prepayment required.

Fresh Food Adventures are communal dining experiences, and guests should expect to share their table with other dining enthusiasts. Parties wishing to sit together and guests with special dietary considerations should email [email protected] at least one week in advance to ensure accommodations.

Learn the basics of making cold process soap and beeswax candles with all natural products such as herbs, beeswax and honey. Participants will learn how to formulate recipes with a variety of ingredients, see demonstrations, try their hand at candle making, and take home several products, instructions and recipes.

Make your own holiday star this year! Try your hand at weaving an intricate star pattern using reed, which can be replicated at home in a variety of sizes and materials. Each participant will take home two reed stars.

The Shakers are world famous for their brooms. Learn this traditional craft by making two hand-held brooms—a bundle brush and a turkey-wing. Study how to wrap, tie and finish hand-made brooms just like the Shakers. All necessary materials are provided.  No experience necessary and all levels are encouraged to join.

This week we’re extending an invitation for our Mercer County neighbors to enjoy Shaker Village, free of charge! Whether it has been 10 days or 10 years since your last visit, we’re excited to show you what’s happening just around the corner!

Mercer County residents with a valid ID may attend daily programs and exhibits, and explore the Kentucky River on the Dixie Belle at no cost. Admission to some attractions will be limited, and all guests must receive their complimentary passes at the Shaker Village Welcome Center upon arrival.

All adults must have valid ID demonstrating Mercer County residence to receive free admission. Children under age 18, accompanied by a qualifying adult, will also be extended free admission. Does not apply to group rates.
