Acclaimed watercolorist Charley Jolly began painting 40 years ago, with no experience. His passion for watercolor and love for his subjects have since guided him to becoming a master at his craft.
These 6-hour workshops are designed for beginners, and can be taken as a series or as individual classes. Charley's easy, low-key approach is perfect for kindling your own passion for painting. All supplies are provided; all you need to bring is your interest!
Kentucky Landscape
Saturday, June 24 | 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
This study explores the range of expressive possibility offered by Kentucky's varied landscape. Charley will demonstrate the potential to pull feeling from each season, while demonstrating compositional devices that strengthen any painting.

Techniques for Texture
Saturday, September 30 | 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
This study outlines the influence of texture on a finished work. Texture can be detailed, or implied. Charley will demonstrate how to paint both, but just as importantly, he will demonstrate how each technique can be employed to enhance a completed watercolor work.

Program fee includes all workshop expenses, a boxed lunch, one complimentary admission to Shaker Village and one voucher redeemable for 20% off dining at the Trustees’ Table (excluding alcoholic beverages).
