2026 Winter Tree ID Workshop
Friday, February 20, 2026 | 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Join preserve technician Judson Collins for a workshop on how to identify trees without their leaves! Together, we'll learn how to identify many of the trees at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill by their bark, buds, leaf scars, and even smells! While leaves can be a useful characteristic to use to learn plants, these other traits can be just as useful, and are often even more informative of a species' true identity. You'll go home armed with new knowledge and a set of useful resources to learn more about the trees in the area.
