Why is it called a Flower Moon?

Well, it’s pretty simple – May is the time for blooming flowers across North America!

The night sky and the cosmos have been a source of inspiration and amazement throughout human history. Join us for an evening at Pleasant Hill and explore the starry sky! On this gentle hike through the Preserve, take in the wonders of the prairie and forest at night while discovering some of the mysteries and curiosities of the universe. Along the way, we will observe constellations and learn fun facts about the moon and its importance in our lives.

Annual Passholder: $15
Non-Annual Passholder: $20

Participants should meet at the Welcome Center by 8:15 p.m. All participants should bring flashlights to assist in returning to vehicles or rooms at the conclusion of the evening.

Join us for an evening of Shaker music on the grounds of Pleasant Hill. Take a gentle stroll through the Historic Centre to the Amphitheater and explore how the Shakers incorporated elements of the natural world and the springtime into their music.

All ages are welcome. Meet outside the Welcome Center 10 minutes before the program.

Volunteer Work Day

It Takes a Village: Volunteer Work Day

Saturday, November 12 | 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Roll up your sleeves and lend a hand to help maintain the beauty of Shaker Village! Shaker Village staff will lead small teams of volunteers on a variety of outdoor beautification projects, including painting, staining and cleaning.

Work projects will total approximately six hours of the day. For guests ages 18 and up. Space is limited.

All volunteers are eligible to receive 20% off an overnight stay (available the Thursday - Sunday nights of your volunteer weekend). Use promo code V321 when you make your reservation.

Volunteers will also receive a continental breakfast, box lunch and a voucher for 20% off one meal at the Trustees' Table! Reservations are recommended.

Halloween 5k

Kiwanis Halloween 5k at Shaker Village

Put on your running shoes and tackle the rolling landscape of Shaker Village for this Halloween-themed run/walk event that supports our local Kiwanis Club!

The Halloween 5k is on paved surfaces, and begins near the Village's Welcome Center, going out and back from the historic West Lot. Runners are encouraged to wear (and run in!) costumes for our costume contest, and additional awards will be given to the top male and female runners by age groups.

After the 5k, the kids will love our 1 Mile "Superhero Chase" around the Historic Centre of the Village, that begins at 10:30!

Participants in both the 5k and the Superhero Chase will receive a complimentary, individual admission to Shaker Village.
