Join us for loads of hands-on activities, giveaways, a play area and archeology tours. Kids will engage with activations and experiments related to the field of science. Bring your own jar, bottle or other container to exchange for a prize.

Join a beginner-friendly yoga class with a little help from our friends. Our Nigerian Dwarf goats will be attending the class with you to cheer you on and join in during your poses. After the hour-long session you'll enjoy some playtime with your new goat friends and sip on some garden-fresh tea.

Bring your own yoga mat, or let us know if you need to borrow one of ours for this fun outdoor experience on the Farm. Namaste!

Come and explore the Kentucky River Palisades! Paddle (standing up) the Kentucky and Dix Rivers amongst the cliffs and High Bridge.

Stand up paddleboard rentals are provided by Kentucky by Paddle out of Shaker Landing. Make your reservation for a specific start time, fill out your paperwork online, and then away you go to explore the river. If you are looking for guided tours or a stand up paddleboard 101 skills class, click here.

Participants should bring water shoes, hat, towel, sunscreen, bug spray and should wear suitable clothes in case you end up in the Kentucky River.

This program is for guests ages 12 and up. Ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Advanced purchase is required, no on-site purchases.

Guests should plan to arrive ahead of their start time and meet at the bottom of River Road (Shaker Ferry Road) located .25 miles east of the main Shaker Village entrance, on the opposite side of US 68. There is a Shaker Landing sign at the road’s entrance. 

Dining is available onsite at The Trustees' Table restaurant. Reservations recommended to assure availability call: 859.734.5411.

Author and photographer Carol Peachee will be onsite at Shaker Village signing and discussing her book Shaker Made: Inside Pleasant Hill's Shaker Village.

Shaker Made is photographer Carol Peachee's love letter to the cultural artifacts—the architecture, furniture, and crafts—of one of America's most notable utopian societies. Peachee has photographed Pleasant Hill for more than four decades—from small items such as eyeglasses, embroidered handkerchiefs, elixir bottles, and bonnets, to the distinguished furniture and architecture of the more than 260 buildings that the Shakers built at Pleasant Hill.

The book signing will take place at the Welcome Center.
