Acclaimed watercolorist Charley Jolly began painting 40 years ago. His passion for watercolor and love for his subjects have guided him to becoming a master at his craft and an excellent teacher.

These 6-hour workshops are designed to accommodate the needs of both beginner and intermediate watercolor painters, and can be taken either as a series or as individual classes. Charley's easy, humor-filled, low-key approach is perfect for kindling your own interest for painting. All supplies are provided, just bring your passion and willingness to learn!

Bodies of water occupy a revered place in the history of watercolor. Generations of artists have been fascinated by the water's reflective power, mirroring trees, boats, and buildings on its surface. In this workshop, Charley will demonstrate techniques to effectively incorporate water subjects into paintings.

It is hard to paint in Kentucky without encountering trees! This workshop introduces particpants to varied tree forms - from skeletal trees in winter to trees lush with summer foliage. Participants will explore techniques to accuately capture the essence of different types of trees and discuss the compositional importance of trees.

Workshop Price (includes a boxed lunch):
Annual Passholder: $125
Non-Annual Passholder: $145

Shaker Village is home to one of Kentucky's largest and most accessible collections of historic, dry stacked stone fences. You are invited to join the Drystone Conservancy for this two-day workshop to learn how to care for and repair these remarkable pieces of Kentucky culture.

Introductory Workshops through the Drystone Conservancy are designed for drystone enthusiasts with little to no previous experience who would like to gain a basic understanding of dry stone construction techniques. The pace will be comfortable and participants will learn the fundamental skills needed to build and repair a typical rock fence or retaining wall.

Fresh Food Adventures are communal dining experiences, and guests should expect to share their table with other dining enthusiasts.
