Admission to Shaker Village grants you full access to The Historic Centre, The Farm and The Preserve, with a full day of self-guided and staff-led tours, talks, hands-on activities, farm experiences and more. Visit seasonal exhibits, tour historic buildings and hike over 30 miles of nature trails.

2022 Teen Service Leadership

This unique and engaging experience for campers ages 13-14 is designed to recognize and enhance leadership skills. Leadership begins through service to others, and a key component of Teen Service Leadership is the integration of service projects and facilitated teambuilding initiatives.

Alongside trained Shaker Village staff, campers will learn techniques for organic gardening, dry stone fence construction and the management of rare ecosystems, while completing projects that will fill them with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Campers will also take part in daily teambuilding activities to guide their development both as leaders and as members of a team. Each day will have plenty of time for additional fun, with archery, riverboat rides, crafts and other adventures built into the schedule.

Pricing: $250 per camper
Register before April 1: $225 per camper

Registration fee includes full-day programming throughout the week, two healthy snacks per day (one AM, one PM: granola bar, cheese stick, piece of fruit, etc.), one Shaker Village t-shirt, and free annual family membership ($135 value - begins after camp attendance). Campers must bring their own non-perishable sack lunch.

Meet-and-Greet Deacon

Saturday, February 5, 12, 19 & 26, 2022 | 1 – 3:00 p.m.

Our resident farm dog, Deacon, is turning three (weighing in at 194 lbs.) and we want to celebrate him all month long!

Every Saturday in February Deacon will be waiting at the Farm Barn with Farm Manager and #1 Dog Dad Mike Moore for special meet-and-greets the entire family can enjoy. Come out for lunch at The Trustees' Table where you can enjoy Deacon's birthday dessert, a peanut butter cheesecake with candied peanuts and a graham cracker "dog bone." Then head over to give Deacon a pat on the head, meet some of his farm friends and go on a Deacon-themed scavenger hunt throughout the Village.

In lieu of chew toys and treats Deacon is wishing for donations to help care for his farm animal friends. What can your donation do? A lot! Your gift will help purchase feed, cover veterinary care expenses and more for the 130 farm animals who call Shaker Village home.

Acclaimed watercolorist Charley Jolly began painting 40 years ago, with no experience. His passion for watercolor and love for his subjects have since guided him to becoming a master at his craft.

This 6-hour workshop is designed for beginners. Charley's easy, low-key approach is perfect for kindling your own passion for painting. All supplies are provided; all you need to bring is your interest!

Birds of the Palisades

Join our Preserve Team to learn how to identify grassland songbirds by sight, sound, behavior and habitat. This program takes place during peak migration in our converted native prairie and adjoining forest edges. Participants will gain training for Global Big Day and other citizen science birding programs.

For this program, we are partnering with our friends at Floracliff Nature Sanctuary to highlight birds of the Kentucky River Palisades region. Join us from 8-11:00 a.m. for a morning birding hike at Floracliff (purchase tickets here) that will feature woodland songbirds and migrating warblers, then head out to Shaker Village for the 1-4:00 p.m. program.

Cost: $15

Participants should meet at the West Trailhead 10 minutes prior to the start of the program. Please dress for a day of warm-weather hiking with sturdy shoes. We encourage you to bring sun protection, water, light snacks and binoculars. Adult supervision is required for anyone under 18.

Although our egg hunts are now full, you can still come out to enjoy all the baby farm animals, wagon rides, crafts, pony rides and other great activities at the Village with your daily admission!

Celebrate spring with this egg-citing family event!

Kids ages 12 and under are invited to hunt for eggs, meet the newest additions to the Farm family, make a craft, take a pony ride and much more! Return your eggs to candy stations to receive treats! In addition to our regular egg hunts, your family is invited to participate in the Village-wide golden egg hunt to win a fantastic gift basket!

Food trucks will provide a variety of meal options and the Shaker Village bar will be open for adults in attendance. Food Truck options include: Bluegrass Foods, Captain Frank's Hotdog Emporium, Hogtown BBQ, The Rooster's Whistle, The Scoop, Southern Style Kettle Corn and Taco Gallo

Tickets are limited per hunt time to ensure a good experience for all. The egg hunt field will be divided by age groups during each time.

Please bring your own basket. Adult supervision required.
