Kick off the Kentucky Heritage Jazz Festival in style with an exclusive gala in Shaker Village's famed Meadow View Barn.

Featuring jazz by The Blue Groove Jazz Quartet, the Jazz in the Barn Gala includes a cocktail hour and three-course plated meal prepared by Shaker Village's Chef Amber Hokams.

During the cocktail hour attendees will have an opportunity to bid on a variety of unique gifts and experiences during a silent auction, with proceeds from both the auction and ticket sales going to support Shaker Village and the Kentucky Heritage Jazz Festival.

This all-inclusive communal dining experience includes all food courses, beverages, bar and service charges.

The Jazz in the Barn Gala is a communal dining experience, and guests should expect to share their table with other jazz enthusiasts.

Parties wishing to sit together and guests with special dietary considerations should email [email protected] at least one week in advance to ensure accommodations.

Please follow on-site directional signage to the Meadow View Barn and plan on checking-in 15 minutes prior to the event start time. Event tickets will not be mailed in advance.

Whether looking into the face of a young Shaker girl, or a lone coat hanging against a stark, aged wall, you may sense another presence in the room when viewing Bill Berryman’s creations. Berryman weaves stories throughout his work with detailed yet simplistic images.

Join Bill Berryman as he demonstrates his artistic process through drawings and paintings. This demonstration will take place inside the Welcome Center, and guests will be able to interact with the artist and discuss his process.

Artist's Statement

My current work is inspired by the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. It is composed of representational drawings and watercolors of portraits, architectural studies, still life and animals.

The Village is a place that is very special to me, and my art helps me to share it with others.

Holiday decorations can be expensive, messy and harmful to the environment. In this workshop guests will learn to make beautiful, simple and even scented decorations using non-harmful materials you can find around your house and in your neighborhood.

Holiday Reed Stars

Saturday, December 3 & 17 | 10:00 a.m. - Noon

Make your own holiday star this year! Try your hand at weaving an intricate star pattern using reed, which can be replicated at home in a variety of sizes and materials. Each participant will take home two reed stars.

All necessary materials are provided. No experience necessary and all levels encouraged.
