We'll be featuring women and mothers from Pleasant Hill's history, sharing stories about some of ways that motherhood was viewed within the community and how individuals took on roles of caring and nurturing. Enjoy a signature cocktail and light snacks as we chat by the fire.

Women-owned business vendors will have booths filled with special giftables to make moms smile. Native plants will be available to purchase to get your garden going. Plus, you’ll enjoy 20% off in all three of the Shaker Village Shops!

While you shop you can visit our garden stations for a pressed flower demonstration, flower arranging DIY table, a wildflower in epoxy demonstration and propagation tutorial. Get tips and tricks for planting your home garden from our Farm Team who care for our certified-organic garden. Special giveaways for moms will be happening throughout the day and you can enter to win a
garden gift basket.

Grab-and-go food will be available in the Post Office Shop, or join us for lunch at The Trustees’ Table (outdoor dining is open on the Patio).

Admission to the Market is complimentary with paid admission to Shaker Village which can be purchased at the Welcome Center and in The Trustees’ Gift Shop. Stick around after the Market and join us for Music on the Lawn at 5:30 p.m.

Shaker Village continues its annual tradition of supporting the Great American Brass Band Festival by hosting Louisville brass quintet, Bourbon & Brass Company, for a special performance on The Trustees' Table lawn.

You won't want to miss this incredible event, pairing world-class music with the backdrop of historic Shaker Village. In addition to the music, enjoy drinks from the outdoor bar, take a stroll in the garden, attend an evening tour and stick around for dinner and more Music on the Lawn throughout the evening.

About Bourbon & Brass Company

The Bourbon & Brass Company was founded in 2019 at the University of Louisville. Shortly after forming, the Company established themselves as an unmatched chamber music ensemble in Louisville. The Company now enjoys several performances a season in a variety of settings from academia to bars, weddings, commencement addresses and more!

The Shakers used a distinctive material for crafting seats on chairs, footstools, and settees — colorful, woven strips of cotton or wool known as “tape” or “listing.” In this workshop you’ll get to learn the art of chair taping for yourself! We’ll use a mix of traditional and modern materials, and by the end of the afternoon you’ll walk away with a completed footstool.

Butterfly Walk

Take a guided stroll through the historic Village grounds and get a closer look at some of the many butterflies that call it home. Participants will learn how to responsibly catch and view butterflies while learning more about each species' life history.

Participants will traverse gravel, grass, and dirt pathways on a 1.0-1.5 mile loop along Shaker Village's grounds. Participants should be comfortable traversing uneven terrain (mown grass and gravel).

The Butterfly Walk is intended for all ages. All minors must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Tickets required for guests aged 5+.
